Engine 638, the last coal-driven Colorado and Southern R.R. steam engine,

and a caboose near City Hall in Trinidad.

I-25 runs northbound to Denver and southbound to Santa Fe and Albuquerque, NM.
Highway 160 runs east to Springfield, CO.
Highway 350 runs northeast to La Junta, CO.
Highway 12, Scenic Highway of Legends, runs west and loops back to Trinidad.

Bus Service
TNOM Coaches (Greyhound), at 639 W. Main, makes connections to the north and south with several daily stops in Trinidad. 719-846-7271.

The Burlington Northern/Santa Fe has daily freight service as well as piggyback service.

Amtrak’s Southwest Chief connects Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Trinidad, Kansas City, and Chicago. Las Animas County Perry Stokes Airport, 10 miles northeast of Trinidad, services small planes. Jet fuel is available 24 hours a day, self-service. Hours: 8am-6pm every day. 719-846-6271.

Passenger air service is 130 miles north of Trinidad in Colorado Springs and 210 miles north of Trinidad in Denver. To the south is Albuquerque International Airport, 220 miles from Trinidad.
